From 1 July 2012 onwards
Installing solar electricity from the 1 July 2012 will mean that you will still require an EPC rating of ‘D’ and above for your property. The uptake of Solar PV throughout March and April 2012 will depend on what level the Feed-in Tariff subsidy is dropped to, which could potentially be 13.6p – 16.5p, yet to be decided by the DECC. The latest proposal by DECC (Consultation on Comprehensive Review Phase 2A: Solar PV Cost Control 09/02/12) details the introduction of a ‘degression mechanism’ which is to be based on an automatic baseline degression of 10% every 6 months.

What is an EPC?
From 1st April 2012 you will be required to have an EPC of level D or higher.
- If you do not have a level D Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), you will not be able to claim the full rate of FIT (21p) for your pv solar installation.
